What Happened to the Dinosaurs

They Went Extinct, But You WILL Live Forever

Most people believe an asteroid killed the dinosaurs, leaving a giant crater in the Gulf of Mexico (the Chicxulub Crater). But, the evidence does not support that. Drill cores looking at the geology of the Chicxulub Crater do not support it being an impact crater. The main "proof" of the impact theory is a layer of sediment enriched with iridium. Iridium is found in meteorites, so the assumption is that the iridium found in this sediment layer must have come from an asteroid. But, iridium has other possible sources, and the sediment layer with the iridium is not as clearly defined as is claimed. There are other evidences showing the dinosaurs were not killed by an asteroid impact, including the fact that the fossil record "shows" (based on evolutionary assumptions) they over a very long period of time, not suddenly as would happen with an impact.

Bottom line: secular science does not know why the dinosaurs went extinct (see video below). We have thousands of fossils, buried deep in the sediment, of animals that are living today. But the dinosaurs didn't make it. There are a number of possible reasons, such as the food supply after the global flood not being right for supporting dinosaurs and the ice age that followed the flood bringing a change in climate many dinosaurs could not survive. Marco Polo records Chinese people eating what appear to be dinosaurs (they were a delicacy). Records from many European countries record St. George the dragon killer, something that makes sense. When there are dangerous animals around, people find a way to kill them. From what we can tell the dinosaurs went extinct for a combination of reasons.

Important Fact: You Will Not Go Extinct

You will die physically, but you will continue to exist forever. You are an eternal being. The only question is, where will you spend all that time?

That's something to think about. Among all living organisms you are unique. You were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27), and that means you will continue to exist forever after your original physical body dies. However, we were made to have a physical body and a physical existence, so you will have a new, eternal body that will lat forever. Physical death will have been abolished. That means the cells in your body will not age nor die, so your new physical body will not age nor die.

The Question: Where Will You Spent Eternity?

There are only two options. You can spent eternity with God or separated from God. Separation is a total separation. You will have NOTHING that comes from God.

So people think that being separated from God actually sounds good. No more rules telling them what they can and can't do. But, that's not what it means. You have to understand that everything good comes from God. If you are separated from God, you have nothing good. NOTHING. Take a moment and think about what that means. When you understand what separation from God means, you'll begin to know what hell is and why it is called the lake of fire and brimstone.

Why Separated From God?

When you disobey God (sin), you are rejecting God. Look at it this way. The Ten Commandments describe the character of God. You are created in the image of God and are to have the character of God. When you disobey one of the Ten Commandments you have represented God as violating His character. If you tell a lie, you represent God as a liar, for example. These are called God's laws, and when you violate a law there is a consequence. In this case, eternity in hell (eternity separated from God). Everyone has broken God's law, everyone is heading for hell. But God did something...

THE GOOD NEWS

The Good News

Before you get the good news, you need to know the bad news. It's about you. God says:

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. - Romans 3:23

Sin means disobeying God, aka breaking God's law. God is perfect and perfection is required to enter heaven. It's a standard none of us can achieve. We all fall short. For example, compare yourself with just one of the Ten Commandments. Have you ever told a lie?

All liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. - Revelation 21:8. Or what about:

Have you ever taken something that does not belong to you, no matter how small? Have you ever looked at another person with lust? In Matthew 5 Jesus said:

Everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.' Have you done that?

You have broken God's laws. You have sinned. There must be justice, and that means eternity in hell, the lake of fire, the second death. Unless...

Unless there was someone willing to pay that penalty on your behalf. Someone who will take on themselves the consequences you deserve. And there is. There is one person who can and will do that. That person is Jesus Christ. If you trust this is true (believe), and repent (turn away from disobeying God), Jesus' death is applied to your account and you are freed from the penalty of sin to be with God forever.
