GENESIS

Most Hated Verse in the Bible - Genesis 1:1

What Is The Most Hated Verse in the Bible?
(March 03, 2019 - Steve Hudgik - Part 1)

If you knew you were about to lose most of your memory, and that you'd only be able to remember three Bible verses. Which three would you pick? Asking the question a different way. Which three verses do you think Satan hates the most, and why? What section of scripture is most frequently distorted in seminaries? Which section of scripture do church most often ignore? Which section of scripture is the foundation of the Bible?

The Bible Verse that Destroys Religion - Bible Genesis 1:1

The Verse That Destroys False Religions:
(March 05, 2019 - Steve Hudgik - Part 2)

This is part two of Steve Hudgik's message on Genesis 1:1, an introduction to Genesis. The attacks of the world on the Bible, as well as Satan's attacks far exceed attacks on anything else. And the Bible is attacked because of what is said, not because Christians are immoral lawbreakers. There is something going on here. Christianity and the Bible are treated very differently from all of the other religions in the world.

Observing Creation - Genesis 1:1-31

Observing Creation -- The 5Ws of Genesis Chapter 1
(June 30, 2019 - Steve Hudgik)

What we are going to do today is ask six questions about everything. I mean all of creation. Where did everything come from? We see this wonderful, and vast and huge, and beautiful creation all around us... so let's ask the five W's plus an "H" question. In fact, in the previous two messages on Genesis, which were back in March when Chris was away. So in those two previous messages all we covered was Genesis chapter one, verse one. And it is amazing how many of the W's are answered in that one verse. For example:

People Make A Mess - Genesis 1:2-8

Humanity Really Makes A Mess of God's Word
(July 07, 2019 - Steve Hudgik)

“Who do you chose... Darwin or Jesus? Who are you going to trust? Who are you going to believe when it comes to Genesis? A correct understanding of Genesis is critical if you are going to understand the rest of scripture. If you choose Darwin, you have to find ways to add to scripture. Scripture as originally revealed does not allow for millions of years between Genesis 1:1 and verse 2. Or choose Jesus and read scripture simply for what it plainly says.

God Will Be Glorified - Genesis 1:9-31

Building The Stage On Which God Will Be Glorified
(July 14, 2019 - Steve Hudgik)

Genesis 1 is a historical narrative. Although it touches on science, it is providing a historical record of what God did. It's historical record describing the origin of our existence. It is describing God as He builds the stage on which He will glorify Himself. The Bible is all about God revealing who He is, the uncreated creator. God simply speaks everything into existence. He is the One who made everything and that means He owns everything, including you. God is the powerful, majestic, creative artist who creates, and everything He creates is good and perfect.

SORRY,
I NEVER KNEW YOU

Wide and Narrow Roads

Many people, when they die, will stand before Jesus and say:

Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles? - Matthew 7:22

And Jesus will say to them:

I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness. - Matthew 7:23

Get your Bible out and read Matthew 7:21-23. These are some of the most frightening verses in the Bible.

They describe people who believe with all their heart that they are saved. They have no doubt that they know Jesus and they've done many great things that prove this is true. Put Jesus says, 'Depart from me...' He doesn't know them.

Are you truly trusting Jesus? Scripture says to examine yourself to see if you are in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5). Have you done that?

Do you read your Bible regularly? Do you fear false teaching? Are you growing in your obedience to God? Are you growing in your understanding of what God wants? Do you regularly share the good news about Jesus with others?
