Are Dinosaurs In The Bible? Yes!

This can be a difficult question for someone who believes the earth is billion of years old and dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago. That would mean dinosaurs were long dead before man and the Bible came on the scene. But if you take God's word for what it says, dinosaurs being land animals were created on day six, the same day mankind was created. Job 40:14 even states this:

“Behold now, Behemoth, which I made with you..."

Job 40 goes on to describe behemoth as having a tail like a cedar; bones like tubes of bronze and limbs like bars of iron. He is so big and powerful that he is first of the ways of God and so big you can drink up the Jordan river. The only animal that fits this description is a sauropod dinosaur.

So why aren't dinosaurs called dinosaurs in the Bible? The word "dinosaur" was not invented until 1841. Before that the word "dragon" was used to refer to what we now call dinosaurs. But going further back to ancient Hebrew, the Old Testament uses the word "tanniyn" thirty times. It's a word that refers to a "monster" of an animal or serpant. A vicious and powerful animal. This word is used 30 times in the Old Testament and was most often translated in the King James as dragon.

Today dragons are considered to be mythical, fire-breathing creatures with wings. But if we go back five hundred or more years, secular literature frequently talks about dragons, and the pictures and descriptions depict what we would today call a dinosaur. Here is a brief video that talks about some of this:

God created dinosaurs and mankind on hte same day about 6,000 years ago. Although the Bible is not about dinosaurs, it does mention them. They were a part of people's lives at the time parts ofthe Bible were written.

Amazing Evidence of People With Dinosaurs (CMI)

Here is a video we made in 2011 showing evidence that dinosaurs and people lived together. Since then the evidence has become even greater and stronger. God really did create dinosaurs and people on the same day exactly as the Bible says.

Genesis 1:24-27 -- Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind”; and it was so. God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

THE GOOD NEWS

The Good News

Before you get the good news, you need to know the bad news. It's about you. God says:

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. - Romans 3:23

Sin means disobeying God, aka breaking God's law. God is perfect and perfection is required to enter heaven. It's a standard none of us can achieve. We all fall short. For example, compare yourself with just one of the Ten Commandments. Have you ever told a lie?

All liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. - Revelation 21:8. Or what about:

Have you ever taken something that does not belong to you, no matter how small? Have you ever looked at another person with lust? In Matthew 5 Jesus said:

Everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.' Have you done that?

You have broken God's laws. You have sinned. There must be justice, and that means eternity in hell, the lake of fire, the second death. Unless...

Unless there was someone willing to pay that penalty on your behalf. Someone who will take on themselves the consequences you deserve. And there is. There is one person who can and will do that. That person is Jesus Christ. If you trust this is true (believe), and repent (turn away from disobeying God), Jesus' death is applied to your account and you are freed from the penalty of sin to be with God forever.
